Reprocessing of Reusable Medical Devices

Reprocessing of Reusable Medical Devices

$100.00 CAD

Accreditation Canada's Standards for the Reprocessing and Sterilization of Reusable Medical Devices were prepared in response to requests from health service organizations, regulators, and governments for a set of national standards. They have been developed in conjunction with the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) and incorporate many elements from existing CSA standards:

These standards contain the following sections:

  • Building a high performing reprocessing service
  • Complying with good reprocessing and sterilization practices
  • Selecting, installing, and maintaining safe reprocessing equipment
  • Conducting safe and appropriate reprocessing and sterilization of reusable devices and equipment
  • Monitoring quality and achieving positive outcomes
If you are part of an assessment program (such as Qmentum) with Accreditation Canada, NIAZ, IQG or IQMH, your assessment body will provide you with new assessment standards prior to those standards being incorporated into your program and used for surveys or assessment purposes. For information on assessment standards, or to obtain the version specific to your program, please contact your assessment provider.

Standards purchased online are delivered as printable PDF downloads. If you would like a copy printed and shipped to you, please email publications@healthstandards.org
