The Climate Action Program, developed by Accreditation Canada in partnership with the Canadian Coalition for Green Health Care (CCGHC), supports health and social service organizations in advancing and communicating their climate action priorities.
Program Overview
The program connects assessment, recognition, and capacity building to help organizations:
- Understand their climate action maturity
- Identify high-impact priorities
- Support decision-making and demonstrate value
It promotes integrating sustainability into clinical and operational practices, improving quality, equity, and system resilience.
What’s Included
1. Climate Action Maturity Assessment (CAMA)
A benchmarking and self-assessment tool.

- Assess across 11 sustainability themes
- Benchmark against peer organizations
- Identify priority actions aligned with RSPs and standards

The program builds on the Climate Action Benchmarking Tool (CABT) pilot led by HSO, Accreditation Canada, and CCGHC, and is aligned with accreditation standards and Required Safety Practices.
